Junior Cycle Maths

By studying Project Maths at Junior Cycle students will develop problem-solving skills and their ability to present logical arguments. It enables students to use what they have learned, in class, in real life situations in everyday life and work.

In the Junior Cycle, a more investigative approach is used which builds on and extends students’ experiences of Mathematics in Primary School. This allows students to appreciate how Maths relates to daily life and to the world of work.

Senior Cycle Maths

Project Maths provides students with the opportunity to gain an understanding of, and familiarity with, different areas of Mathematics, as well as developing their overall appreciation of the subject. These different areas have applications in everyday life and provide a foundation for further education. There is more emphasis on the student’s understanding of key concepts. Maths problems are given in context and allow the students to investigate and explore mathematical ideas.
